Push circular economy forward

Thanks to its technological breakthrough, Polystyvert is now able to recycle polystyrene. By processing this type of plastic, the company, founded by Solenne Brouard Gaillot, allows this raw material to be reused several times. Once considered single-use, recycled polystyrene now forms part of a circular economy, reducing greenhouse gas production.

About Polystyvert

Polystyvert makes it possible to set up a circular economy for polystyrene. Using its dissolution process, the company recycles 9,000 tonnes of plastic, which represents 15% of the polystyrene currently sent to landfill in Quebec. In terms of volume, that's the equivalent of 93 Olympic-sized polystyrene swimming pools that can be reused. From a greenhouse gas point of view, this represents CO2 savings equal to the emissions generated by 7,048 cars. In order to promote the adoption of its technologies by a broad range of partners, Polystyvert has set up licences for its processes.
