Jennifer Dibblee is Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at BDC.
In this role, she provides legal support and advice to all business units and corporate functions as well as BDC’s Board of Directors.
A lawyer by training, she has more than 25 years of experience in the legal field.
Before joining BDC in September 2021, Jennifer was Vice President, Legal Services and Corporate Secretary at iA Financial Group, one of Canada’s leading insurance and wealth management companies.
In this role, she unified the legal team across Canada and the United States with a view to building an efficient, integrated and mobilized department operating in a decentralized work environment. Also, working closely with the Board of Directors, she renewed the corporate governance framework as well as the mandate of the corporate secretariat, its approach and its role.
After starting her career in private practice, she joined the iA Financial Group. Throughout her career within the organization, she was called upon to assume increasing responsibilities across all business lines and she expanded her expertise in corporate law, corporate governance, securities, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
A native of Halifax, Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from Université Laval, a Bachelor in Common Law from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University. She is a member of the Barreau du Québec.
