BDC announces appointment of Véronique Dorval as Chief Operating Officer
August 18, 2022, Montreal – BDC, the bank for Canadian entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce the appointment of Véronique Dorval as Chief Operating Officer.
In this role, Véronique will be responsible for the Financing, Growth & Transition Capital, and Advisory Services business lines, ensuring BDC’s solutions are integrated, effective and efficient for maximum impact on Canadian business owners.
As a member of BDC’s executive leadership team, she will also help lead BDC’s ambitious new chapter focused on empowering more entrepreneurs to build a better tomorrow and create a more inclusive, sustainable and prosperous future for themselves, their communities and the Canadian economy.
Véronique has an impressive 23-year career and is a strategic and inclusive business leader with a demonstrated talent and track record for driving growth and delivering ambitious transformations to increase profitability and create an agile and digitally-enabled operating model.
Before joining BDC, Véronique was Senior Vice President and Chief Client Experience Officer at Sun Life Financial, where she defined a transformation agenda and was responsible for sales across direct channels, delivering double-digit growth.
Prior to that, she spent 12 years as Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, leading management consulting mandates for large North American financial institutions and other clients.
Ms. Dorval is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and has a Bachelor in Business Administration from the Université de Sherbrooke, with part of her program completed in Mexico, Spain and India. She is committed to community volunteering, including serving as a board member of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal and as a passionate contributor to the FitSpirit organization, which seeks to help teenage girls build a foundation of physical fitness that will carry them throughout their lives.
