World Customs Organization (WCO)

The World Customs Organization (WCO) is an international group of more than 180 customs agencies. The WCO is dedicated to making international trade easier and more profitable.

The WCO’s Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System assigns standardized number codes (HS codes) to goods to facilitate their identification when traded. This helps customs agencies determine what tariffs to apply to goods when they cross borders.
