D-Wave is building a new type of ultra-fast computational machine—a superconducting quantum computer whose speed will be far in excess of any current or future silicon-based processors. The company’s quantum computers will replace today’s supercomputers with their systems that have a much lower carbon footprint, since they occupy less space and have much higher processing capability.
