Marie-Soleil Lacoursière joined the BDC Board of Directors in June 2023.
Ms. Lacoursière is a highly regarded, sustainability-focused leader with over 15 years of experience, 10 of which have been in Canada’s North. She is currently a partner in Morin’s Fisheries, an innovative commercial fishery located on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories.
She has extensive experience serving on boards of directors, including—currently—the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation, Fort McPherson Tents and Canvas, the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines, Dene Fur Clouds and Acho Dene Native Crafts, among others.
Ms. Lacoursière is also a highly decorated academic. She is a certified Board Candidate with CDI.D designation from Corporate Directors International. She holds a joint master’s degree in Governance and Entrepreneurship in Northern and Indigenous Areas from the University of Saskatchewan and the Arctic University of Norway Tromsø. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Operations Management from McGill University, among other degrees and certifications.
